Well these are certainly uncertain times! Several days this week we woke up to surprising and unexpected news...although these days, it's hard to say what is expected and what should actually be surprising.

As the world moves into an era of less human contact and more isolation/quarantine, not only are people dealing with ever changing work experiences and limited products on the grocery shelves - they are also dealing with unusually high levels of stress and uncertainty. During times like this, one of the best strategies is to try to keep as much routine as possible. Get regular sleep (8-9 hours), eat those veggies and fruit (more important now than ever), stay hydrated and keep some physical activity in your daily routine.

If a gym visit is part of how you maintain your exercise habit, this may be a difficult time to keep that routine, with so many gyms opting to close down temporarily. However, a gym is not essential to building strength or getting some exercise. And - now may be a great time to invest in some minor home gym supplies such as bands, kettlebells, a pull up bar, a skip rope or a TRX system. You'd be amazed at how great a work out you can do with a pretty basic set up, and it's not like they'll be wasted right? Having materials at home also comes in very handy during those poor weather days when you could be at the gym, but just can't face the rain or snow.
