Plan it, Do it

I subscribe to WAY too many blogs/instagram accounts/podcasts and facebook pages. Sometimes I feel like it is a part time job just trying to keep up with them all! Quite often (not always), I read the article and think "Meh...not too much new there" but the other day I read a facebook post by a new author (book title "When food is your drug") who is a client of a BC trainer whose page I subscribe to. In her post, she talked about something this trainer always says to her that she takes to heart. The phrase was is "What gets planned, gets done".
In my own experience, planning my week ahead means that I get all my proverbial "big rocks" into the schedule so that I know they will happen. I've also taken to writing a quick note each day of a "forgettable" task that I really need to get done that day, but which I know may slip between the cracks if I'm not purposeful about tackling it. It seems that writing it down is my way of committing to it! To help in my planning, I've taken to using an app called "any.do". This app allows me to set up a schedule of things I need to get done in the week, record any recurring tasks/events, check off tasks as they get done and even comes with a grocery list (which on occasion, even Alexa will work with - although this has been a work in progress. Alexa is not always super cooperative with this...) I use this to schedule my workouts, weekly events, appointments, practices, daily tasks etc.
We all need strategies to keep us on track! How do you plan to get your things done?
