Looking to improve your eating habits and lose some weight? One of the most powerful eating habits you can develop to aid your weight loss is to eat slowly. Eating slowly allows us to: 1. Sense when we have eaten enough to feel satisfied, preventing us from over eating 2. To be mindful of our eating, leading to better awareness of what we are eating and the quality of our food choices 3. Pay attention to the taste and textures of our food, leading to increased enjoyment of our food 4. Better digest our food leading to decreases in indigestion How do we do this? Here’s the first tip: Sit down. Sounds too easy? Just think how many times you are standing up to eat and rushing to get on to the next thing. Sitting down gives your body the message that you are about to have a meal or snack and helps you pay attention to what and how much you are eating.
